Book description
Dzolomari is a pagan tradition in the village of Begniste (Republic of Macedonia) and takes place every year on January 14th. The villagers every year with scary masks, aggressive dancing, and noise chase away evil spirits from the village. As part of the ritual, the men also engage in a symbolic sexual act with a bride who symbolizes fertility and the new year. This pagan ritual leaves no one indifferent.
