Art Description
This photograph does not require understanding; it resists the clean syntax of interpretation, and in doing so, it performs a rare act in today's hyper-legible visual culture. The work is a satire of taxonomy. In a world obsessed with fixed identities, this photograph grants dignity to the ambiguous. The title serves as both fiction and frame. It promises a narrative, then eats it. We expect whimsy, but encounter mourning.
