Art Description
The term "Golden Age" is filled with sarcasm, serving as a false promise amidst an ethical void. What we see—or rather, what we are permitted to see—is a visual landscape deliberately emptied of substance. It's not about overexposure but about overexploitation. The high contrast flattens the world, not to make it abstract, but to mirror how truth itself has become flattened in contemporary society: bleached, ghosted, and nearly illegible due to repetition and manipulation. The so-called golden here signifies loss, not light. It symbolizes erasure, not celebration. The piece offers no spectacle, only proof of meaning vanishing under the glare of spectacle. In this realm, the subject isn't at the center but appears spectral—a remnant of what once signified human presence, now reduced to surface and noise. This isn't a critique of individuals but of the system. "Golden Age" mocks the euphemisms of progress, where every truth must be packaged and every lie aesthetically sanitized. In this pale landscape, the image becomes a record of absence; the silence screams.
